Arrived at Popoyo Beach north of San Juan Del Sur on January 2nd. This is bliss compared to the Gong show of SJDS.
Right on the beach, swimming 4 or 5 times a day and loving everything about this place in spite of the water shortage. This painting was done just outside our Hotel room door, looking across the property to the Laundry house for the Hotel, the shadows from the Tamarin tree are too tempting, and suitable challenging to paint.

I was attracted to this high vantage point because of the challenging perspective; as I painted I learned about Dubrovnik from the perspective of two locals caught in the daily riggers of mass tourism.
