We woke up at 5:30 am to catch a shuttle to Matagalpa; excited to go the highland city,  famous for it’s superb coffee and cool mountain air.

Well after my last post; I thought this would be a good title.  We are now in Leon the second largest city in Nicaragua and much more interesting than anywhere else I have been so far.

This was an unexpected event I was lucky to come across, on the beach right in front of our hotel. Why she decided to lay her eggs in the hottest part of the day, in full sight of tourist and her natural predators, I don’t know.

Arrived at Popoyo Beach north of San Juan Del Sur on January 2nd.  This is bliss compared to the Gong show of SJDS.
