Our painting tour of South India begins at the majestic Hotel Bangalore, the Sultan’s Palace and Cubbon Park’s 3000 acres of tranquility. After brushing up on our painting techniques in this retreat setting, our tour continues to Mysore to see the three holy rivers of Kaveri, Lokapavani, & Hemavati, and visit the Maharajah’s Palace. Our tour continues to Cochin, the commercial capital of Kerala, one of the finest natural harbours in the world, and then to Kovalam and miles of white sand and the boundless blue waters of the Arabian Sea. Kovalam is a short distance to “Land’s End,” the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula, where the waters of the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea meet.

Cochin

This four-day journey begins with a warm arrival in historic Cochin. A city rich in cultural heritage, including, churches, palaces, the Jewish Quarter, and iconic Chinese fishing nets. Participants engage in relaxed, guided drawing and painting sessions inspired by Cochin’s architecture, streets, gardens, and waterfront, with a focus composition and capturing atmosphere.

Munnar

From Cochin, the journey moves inland to Munnar, highlands surrounded by tea plantations and misty valleys, where travellers enjoy artistic sessions capturing the highland landscapes. Our days in Munnar focus on creative immersion, the focus on dramatic landscapes.

The final days of the our main tour in Kerala offer immersive experiences of backwater life, including kayaking through quiet canals, village visits with traditional crafts, a houseboat cruise with golden-hour painting, cycling through paddy fields, and guided botanical painting sessions.

Marari Beach

The Marari Beach extension offers three peaceful days by the Arabian Sea, with tranquil beaches, palm groves, and traditional fishing life providing a serene setting for relaxation, private sketching, and quiet reflection, concluding with a transfer to Cochin International Airport for departure.
